1. Publisher
The Pangée application (the 'App') and the pangeeapp.com website that presents it (the 'Site') are published by Staivium (the 'Publisher'), a non-professional publisher within the meaning of Article 6-III-2 of French Act No. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 on confidence in the digital economy (LCEN). In accordance with that provision, the Publisher has provided its identifying details to its host and remains reachable at the contact address below. Contact: [email protected].
2. Publication director
The publication director is the representative of Staivium, reachable at the contact address set out in Article 1.
3. Distribution
The App is distributed through the Google Play Store, operated in the European Economic Area by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The web version of the App is available free of charge in a browser, at pangeeapp.com/map, with no app store involved.
4. Hosting
The App's server infrastructure (map-tile service, contact-form processing and online legal pages) is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Contact-form attachments are sent by email to the support mailbox; the Publisher's server does not archive them. Contact emails are delivered via Resend, Inc. (USA). The website pangeeapp.com is hosted separately, also with Cloudflare, and has its own separate contact form. The web map is served by Cloudflare Pages. Its map tiles are read from Cloudflare R2 (tiles.pangeeapp.com), and two data relays, one for the Camino mining titles and one for Mindat, run on Cloudflare Workers.
5. Intellectual property of the App
The App, its interface, source code and visual identity are protected by copyright and remain the property of the Publisher, without any registration formality. The name 'Pangée' is used by the Publisher to identify the App. Any reproduction, representation or reuse of the App, in whole or in part, without prior authorisation is prohibited.
6. Map data
The map data displayed in the App comes in large part from third-party producers, remains their property and is reused under their respective licences (in particular the French Open Licence). The full list of sources and licences appears in the 'Credits & sources' screen of the App. This list is the same for the web version, which shows it in its 'Credits & sources' screen and in a permanent attribution bar. The Site's layer catalogue, the 'Data layers' page, also lists it, with the licence and official source of each layer.
7. Website image credits
The website reproduces extracts of public map data, reused under their respective licences. The map backgrounds of the home page are extracts of the geological map of France at 1:50,000 © BRGM, darkened to keep the text legible. The App screenshots show the 1:50,000 geological map © BRGM, BDLISA © BRGM / OFB, Hub'Eau hydrometry data (Schapi, DREAL, SPC) and the IGN base maps (Plan IGN, aerial imagery, LiDAR HD) © IGN. The paleogeography globe reproduces the PALEOMAP PaleoAtlas v3 reconstructions by C. R. Scotese and N. Wright, released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. The Pangée logo and the other graphic elements of the website are the property of the Publisher.
